Hands Deep
Diving
This dive site has topography to beat the sights of Pembrookshire and the Farne Islands combined.
The visibility is usually fantastic as the site is 9 miles offshore and swept with clean water constantly. The diversity of sea life supported by this reef is staggering and combined with the sheer size of the drop offs and walls makes this a favourite site to all who visit.
Dogfish and crab are predominant and there is a mass of coral and sea fans to photograph. The jewel anemones when open are an incredible site to see, it is like a flooded garden. If photography is your passion and the elements are in your favour then this is one of the best sites in the UK. Visibility does vary like most UK sites, but if you hit it right when the sun is at its midday height and the weather is kind you could get well over twenty metres!
Because the site is exposed, good weather conditions are essential. The depth that can be reached in the good visibility requires a safe and disciplined dive plan!
